Institutional Investors Flock Back to Crypto with $220M ETF Inflows
On August 6th, Bitcoin and Ethereum exchange-traded funds (ETFs) saw significant inflows, totaling $220 million in a single day. This marks a renewed interest from institutional investors in regulated crypto products. Specifically, Bitcoin ETFs attracted $128.69 million, while Ethereum ETFs drew in $92.15 million.
The inflow into both assets suggests that institutions are deliberately building their portfolios after a slow first half of 2026 marked by outflows. This trend indicates a shift back to regulated crypto products as institutions regain confidence.
Bitcoin ETFs manage around $80 billion in assets, with BlackRock's IBIT dominating the market. Meanwhile, Ethereum ETFs are growing, led by BlackRock's ETHA. The key watchpoint is whether Ethereum ETF inflows sustain, which could reshape institutional views on Ethereum as a core asset alongside Bitcoin.
