Institutional Investors Flock to Crypto ETFs as Solana Surpasses $1 Billion
Institutional appetite for crypto exchange-traded funds (ETFs) is growing rapidly beyond Bitcoin, with significant inflows into Ethereum and Solana ETF products. According to data from Farside Investors and SoSoValue, spot Bitcoin ETFs in the United States attracted approximately $217 million in net inflows on August 31, reversing the prior session's $202 million outflow.
The inflows were largely driven by BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT), which contributed $205.9 million to the day's total, indicating ongoing interest from major institutions. The recent buying run has now attracted nearly $3 billion into Bitcoin ETFs over nine consecutive sessions, marking one of the strongest periods of institutional demand for the asset so far in 2026.
Meanwhile, Solana ETFs have reached a milestone, with the Bitwise Solana Staking ETF (BSOL) surpassing $1 billion in assets under management on August 28. This achievement comes just ten months after its introduction and marks the first US-listed Solana ETF to cross this threshold.
