Institutional Investors Flood $756M into Strategy's STRC Preferred Stock

Institutional investors have poured $756 million into Strategy's STRC preferred stock, making it the largest holding among three main U.S. preferred stock exchange-traded funds (ETFs). BlackRock's PFF, Virtus InfraCap's PFFA, and VanEck's PFXF all invested heavily in STRC, which is viewed as a mainstream income product rather than a specialized cryptocurrency-linked investment.

This move is significant because these ETFs frequently look for steady income. By allocating a substantial amount of their portfolios to STRC, ETF managers have exposed millions of investors to Strategy's credit products. This suggests that the market is beginning to regard STRC as a reliable issuer of fixed-income securities, despite its close ties to Bitcoin (BTC).

The investment comes at a time when Strategy's CEO, Phong Le, noted a decline in retail participation. Peter Schiff, a longtime critic of Bitcoin, seized on this opportunity to attack Strategy, suggesting that institutional buyers may have shorted MSTR and bought STRC as a spread trade.
