Institutional Money Flows into Altcoins as Bitcoin Continues to Fall
The cryptocurrency market is experiencing turbulence due to various macroeconomic factors, including the US attack on Iranian targets and rising oil prices. This has led to a decline in the value of Bitcoin, which has fallen by 2% in the last 24 hours to around $76,500.
This drop has also affected altcoins, with Ethereum experiencing a 3% decrease, and XRP and Solana both falling by 4%. However, despite these declines, institutional investors are beginning to shift their focus towards altcoins, particularly Solana and XRP.
A recent report by Wintermute notes that large investors have been quietly buying into these two altcoins, with fund inflows expected to reach record levels in 2026. According to the report, Solana funds received $154 million, while XRP funds received $110 million.
