Intesa Sanpaolo Scales Back Bitcoin Call Position as Staked Ethereum Exposure Triples
Italy's largest banking group, Intesa Sanpaolo, made significant changes to its crypto ETF positions in the second quarter. The bank reported a 99.3% reduction in its underlying-share amount of iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF call position, cutting it from 2,496,500 to just 18,000 shares.
This move comes alongside a notable increase in staked Ethereum exposure, which roughly tripled from 116,200 shares to 349,600. Meanwhile, the bank's Bitwise Solana Staking ETF position fell sharply from 2,817 shares to just seven.
Intesa Sanpaolo's XRP holdings remained unchanged at 712,319 shares of the Grayscale XRP Trust ETF at both quarter ends.
