Intesa Sanpaolo Shifts Crypto Portfolio with Ethereum Stake Tripled
Intesa Sanpaolo, Italy's largest bank, has significantly adjusted its crypto-linked ETF portfolio in the second quarter of 2026. The bank tripled its stake in the iShares Staked Ethereum Trust ETF (ETHB), holding 349,600 shares valued at $7.1 million as of June 30.
This represents a 200.9% increase in share count from the previous quarter. In contrast, Intesa's position in BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) plummeted to 40,723 shares, a 93.7% reduction from the end of March.
The value of the IBIT position fell to $1.36 million from $24.85 million. However, the bank retained 3.47 million shares of the ARK 21Shares Bitcoin ETF (ARKB), worth $67.6 million, its largest crypto holding in the filing.
