Ionic Digital Lists on Nasdaq, Providing Celsius Creditors with Public Market for Shares
On July 28, Ionic Digital made its debut on the Nasdaq under the ticker IOND. The stock started trading at $50, below the reference price of $53 set by Nasdaq for the direct listing.
This milestone is significant for Celsius creditors who received Ionic shares as part of the bankruptcy plan in 2024. They now have a public market where their shares can be traded.
Ionic was formed from Celsius Mining's assets after Celsius Network froze withdrawals in June 2022 and filed for Chapter 11 the following month.
The company has undergone significant changes since its inception. Initially focused on bitcoin mining, Ionic is now positioning itself as a provider of AI infrastructure, leveraging its power-generating capabilities at Ward County, Texas.
