Three iOS users have filed a lawsuit against Apple in the federal court of California, alleging that they lost around $1.8 million worth of Bitcoin after downloading fake Sparrow Wallet apps from the App Store between May and August 2025.

The lawsuit claims that even when victims report fraudulent activity, Apple often takes little or no action, leaving counterfeit versions of legitimate apps on the platform.

Craig Raw, the developer of Sparrow Wallet, criticized Apple for its slow response to multiple counterfeit versions of his app appearing on the App Store, as well as failing to promptly remove fake apps and allowing other fake versions to still exist today.
