IPOs Set to Move On-Chain as Regulated Infrastructure Expands
Binance founder CZ has predicted that initial public offerings (IPOs) will soon migrate from traditional trading floors to blockchain infrastructure. This vision is backed by several real-world pilots, including a fully tokenized IPO completed by French aerospace supplier ST Group in April.
The ST Group's offering raised €2.07 million through the sale of 113,525 shares priced at €18.25 each on the Lightning Stock Exchange under the EU's DLT Pilot Regime. This deal was notable for issuing new equity directly on a blockchain-based market from the start, rather than wrapping existing shares into tokens afterward.
In the United States, major exchanges such as Nasdaq and NYSE are also moving to support tokenized securities trading. The Depository Trust Company (DTCC) has already conducted live production transactions involving 40 firms and expects a broader launch of its tokenization service in October 2026.
