Ireland Sees $39.56M Bitcoin Transfer from Clifton Collins' Stash

A stash of Bitcoin once owned by Irish drug dealer Clifton Collins has transferred $39.56 million to Coinbase Prime.

The transfer consisted of 500 BTC, which is part of a larger 6,000 BTC stash Collins acquired in 2011 and 2012 with proceeds from cannabis sales.

Collins had divided the coins among 12 wallets, each holding approximately 500 BTC, but after he lost the private keys, the Bitcoin became inaccessible.

Irish authorities recovered some of the Bitcoin, with 1,500 BTC already seized by July. However, it is unclear whether Collins himself directed the latest transfer or if authorities had access to the wallet.
