ISO Approves China-Led Blockchain as a Service Standard Initiative
The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) has approved a new project to develop a global standard for Blockchain as a Service (BaaS). This initiative, led by China, aims to create a unified framework for BaaS platforms and address key areas that are critical for adoption and cross-platform compatibility.
The proposed standard will cover infrastructure and network construction, service management and smart contracts, data interoperability and security. By setting these technical benchmarks, the standard is expected to reduce fragmentation in the BaaS market and give businesses clearer guidelines when adopting blockchain solutions.
The involvement of multiple countries, including Germany, the UK, and Japan, signals broad international interest in establishing common ground for BaaS. The project is still in its early stages, and the exact timeline for completion has not been announced.
