ISO Backs China-Led BaaS Standard to Unify Blockchain Services
The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) has approved a project led by China to develop a global standard for Blockchain as a Service (BaaS). This initiative will define technical requirements for infrastructure, network construction and operation, service management, smart contracts, and data interoperability and security.
The proposed standard aims to create a unified framework for BaaS platforms, addressing key areas that are critical for adoption and cross-platform compatibility. Participating countries include Germany, the UK, Ireland, Japan, Portugal, and Uganda.
The standard will cover infrastructure and network construction, service management and smart contracts, and data interoperability and security. By setting these technical benchmarks, the standard is expected to reduce fragmentation in the BaaS market and give businesses clearer guidelines when adopting blockchain solutions.
