Israel's Largest Bank Leumi Joins Crypto Market with Galaxy Partnership
Bank Leumi, Israel's largest bank, has joined the crypto bandwagon by partnering with Galaxy Digital to offer digital asset trading services through its banking platform. The partnership will allow customers of Bank Leumi and its mobile banking arm, PEPPER, to buy, hold, and sell cryptocurrencies.
The initial list of available cryptocurrencies includes Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana, with other assets like XRP expected to join soon. However, the service is not yet available to customers, as it is set to launch in early 2027 through a dedicated section of the Leumi Trade capital markets application.
Once launched, the trading environment will provide customers with a secure and regulated way to access digital assets. The bank has chosen Galaxy's platform designed for institutional clients, called GalaxyOne Institutional infrastructure, to execute its crypto operations.
