Jane Street Reveals $1 Billion Bitcoin Bet Through ETF Holdings
Quantitative trading giant Jane Street has revealed its significant investment in Bitcoin and Ethereum exchange-traded funds (ETFs) through its latest 13F filing. The firm disclosed that it holds nearly $1 billion in Bitcoin ETF holdings, with the majority of this stake being in iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF (IBIT). As of June 30, Jane Street had invested around $828.19 million in IBIT and an additional $163.38 million in other products such as Grayscale Bitcoin Trust ETF (GBTC) and Fidelity Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund (FBTC).
Jane Street's investment in Ethereum ETFs is also substantial, with the firm holding over $90 million in iShares Ethereum Trust ETF (ETHA). The remainder of its Ethereum ETF holdings are spread across Grayscale Ethereum Trust ETF (ARCA) and Fidelity Ethereum Fund (FETH), totaling around $112.46 million.
The firm's stake in Strategy Inc. (MSTR) has also increased significantly, with Jane Street now holding 2.67 million shares valued at approximately $232.76 million as of June 30.
