Japan Aims for $18 Billion Bitcoin Spot ETF Market by 2028
Japan is on track to become Asia's hub for regulated cryptocurrency markets, with its bitcoin spot ETF market expected to reach $18.4 billion by fiscal 2028.
This forecast comes from blockchain outlet U.Today, which reported that digital asset manager XWIN has predicted this growth based on realistic funding assumptions.
XWIN notes that the figure is just 0.13 percent of Japanese households' roughly $14.6 trillion in financial assets, and assumes only a 1 percent shift of funds compared to Japan's equity investment fund market.
The report identifies three channels for inflows into bitcoin spot ETFs: retail investors, institutional investors, and expanded product supply by financial firms.
