Japan-Based AI Company Invests in Hype Token as Part of Long-Term Corporate Strategy
eole, a Japan-based AI data center company listed on the Japanese stock exchange, has announced an investment in HYPE, the native token of the Hyperliquid ecosystem. The initial acquisition was made for approximately $67,000 (10 million yen). eole plans to increase its investment to around $670,000 (100 million yen) by August 2024.
According to a statement from the company, this transaction marks the first HYPE investment made by a publicly traded company in Japan. eole emphasizes that this move is not solely for portfolio diversification purposes but rather as part of its long-term corporate strategy.
eole plans to add HYPE to its strategic reserve assets, alongside Bitcoin, as part of its vision for a next-generation financial infrastructure called 'Neo Crypto Bank.' The company believes blockchain-based assets will play a significant role in the future of the financial system and aims to increase its investments in digital assets accordingly.
eole highlighted the technical specifications of the Hyperliquid blockchain, which is built on a Layer-1 architecture. This network is seen as suitable infrastructure for financial transactions conducted by autonomous AI agents. eole predicts that AI-powered applications will increasingly play a role in digital asset trading, liquidity management, and automated financial decision-making processes.
