Japan Breakthrough Fuels Shiba Inu Rally, But September Correction Looms
The Shiba Inu (SHIB) meme token has ended August with an all-time record return of 14.8%, breaking its 11-month bearish trend and surpassing its previous record of +10.1% set in 2021.
This significant breakthrough was driven by Japan's Financial Services Agency (FSA) approval for SHIB listing on the licensed Laser Digital Japan platform, part of the Nomura Group.
The inclusion of SHIB in an exclusive list of six assets available to Japanese institutional investors brought in regulated capital and lifted its market capitalization to $3.2 billion.
However, technical signals indicate a potential September drop, with the asset's historical vulnerability to September seasonality combined with key technical metrics signaling a threat.
