Japanese Exchanges SBI VC Trade and Bitpoint Ditch Nine Cryptocurrencies
Japanese cryptocurrency exchanges SBI VC Trade and Bitpoint have announced they will stop handling nine cryptocurrencies, effective October. The decision affects Aptos (APT), Ethereum Classic (ETC), Oasis (OAS) at SBI VC Trade, and Build & Build (BNB), DEPcoin (DEP), Jasmy (JMY), OSHI token (OSHI), PEPE (PEPE), and Official Trump (TRUMP) at Bitpoint.
The exchanges will phase out services in stages. Starting on October 7, purchases of the affected tokens will no longer be available. Recurring purchase applications must be submitted before 6:59 a.m. on October 7 to be executed that day. Selling and withdrawal services will end on October 28.
Deposit and withdrawal restrictions differ by token. At SBI VC Trade, Oasis holders can move their assets to supported wallets if they complete withdrawal reservations before maintenance begins on October 28. Staking for Aptos and Oasis is expected to end with the October 2026 payout, corresponding to rewards for September.
The exchanges will convert any remaining assets into yen and reflect the proceeds in customer accounts by November 2026. They plan to sell these assets considering market prices.
