Japan's First Publicly Traded Company Buys HYPE Tokens
Eole Inc., listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange Growth Market under ticker 2334, has become Japan's first publicly traded company to hold HYPE, the native token of the Hyperliquid DeFi protocol.
The initial purchase of 1,078.25469311 HYPE tokens at an average price of ¥9,352.77 per token cost ¥10,084,663 (~$66,000), with a target to scale the position to ¥100 million (~$611,000) by August 31, 2026.
Eole's Executive Director Kensuke Amo stated three reasons for choosing HYPE: its architecture supports Agentic Commerce, a model where AI agents autonomously handle payments and contracts without human sign-off; strict US regulations have created demand for regulated exposure to DeFi protocols like Hyperliquid; and the company plans to explore staking HYPE for yield once Hyperliquid's AQAv2 USDC yield mechanism activates.
This move is part of Eole's Neo Crypto Bank initiative, launched in October 2025 with Bitcoin as its initial treasury asset. The concept frames the company not just as a passive crypto holder but as a builder of on-chain financial infrastructure, integrating digital assets into its products and services.
