Japan's Gumi Unveils $18M Crypto Fund with Active Portfolio Management
Japanese game developer Gumi has launched an $18.3 million crypto asset fund in partnership with SBI Financial Services, marking a significant shift towards yield-generating infrastructure.
The new fund will actively manage and rebalance its portfolio across Bitcoin, major altcoins, and other cryptocurrencies, rather than simply holding them as reserves.
Gumi's balance sheet already reflects this strategy, with 14.13 billion yen (~$128 million) in crypto assets, nearly double the amount held a year ago, centered on XRP rather than Bitcoin.
