Japan's Remixpoint Ditches Altcoins, Bets Big on Bitcoin
Remixpoint, one of Japan's largest corporate Bitcoin holders, has made a significant shift in its cryptocurrency strategy. The company sold all of its altcoins, including Ether (ETH), Solana (SOL), XRP (XRP), and Dogecoin (DOGE), for a total of 878.8 million yen ($5.5 million). This sale resulted in a gain of 117.8 million yen ($736,000) for the company.
The disposal of altcoins is part of Remixpoint's effort to concentrate its crypto strategy around Bitcoin. The company held about 1.506 BTC, valued at $115 million, as its sole cryptocurrency holding after the sale. This decision aims to 'clarify investment strategy' and 'improve capital efficiency', according to Remixpoint.
Remixpoint has also been generating returns from lending out its Bitcoin holdings. Between February 24th and August 31st, the company earned 14.92 BTC valued at 164.2 million yen ($1 million).
