Jensen Huang Declares AGI Has Arrived as OpenAI Unveils GPT-6 Astra
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang declared that Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) has arrived following OpenAI's release of GPT-6 Astra. He praised OpenAI for its achievement, stating that rapid advancements in AI models over the past four years made this milestone possible.
The latest model, trained on more than 100,000 Grace Blackwell NVLink72 chips, has reached a new level of intelligence and is described by OpenAI as 'the world's most intelligent and most aligned model.'
OpenAI's GPT-6 Astra has demonstrated advanced capabilities in computer operations, web browsing, software engineering, cybersecurity, scientific research, and professional work. It achieved a 98% score rate on the FrontierMath Tier 4 test and reached a saturation point.
Nvidia's data center business generated $89 billion in revenue in the second quarter of its fiscal year ending July 2026, a 117% year-on-year increase, with total revenue reaching $96.2 billion. Huang stated that 'computation is revenue' for NVIDIA, which sells chips to AI labs.
OpenAI announced that GPT-6 Astra is now open to select institutions and will gradually become available to all ChatGPT Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise users in the coming days. It will also be accessible via the OpenAI API, Microsoft Azure, and AWS Bedrock platforms.
