JP Morgan Boosts Stake in Strategy with $6M Purchase
JP Morgan has increased its stake in Strategy, formerly known as MicroStrategy, by purchasing additional shares worth around $6 million. This move boosts the bank's total holding to 624,387 shares, representing an 11% increase in its position.
The purchase adds to JP Morgan's existing investment in Strategy, which has made large-scale Bitcoin acquisition a core part of its business strategy. As a result, Strategy has become a proxy trade for investors seeking Bitcoin exposure through traditional equity markets rather than holding the asset directly.
JP Morgan analysts have commented on Strategy's aggressive Bitcoin buying pace, noting that it has acquired over $13.7 billion in Bitcoins year-to-date through 2026. They also flagged market-impact risks if Strategy were forced to sell its holdings quickly, which could put downward pressure on prices due to the scale of its position.
The bank's history with Strategy has been fluctuating, including share sales in the third quarter of 2025. This recent purchase marks a reversal of that trend and indicates JP Morgan's ongoing interest in Strategy as a key player in corporate Bitcoin accumulation.
