JPMorgan Re-Enters XRP Market, Boosts Bitcoin and Ethereum ETF Holdings
JPMorgan Chase has disclosed new exposure to XRP through two spot exchange-traded funds (ETFs), marking a significant shift from its previous complete exit. The Wall Street giant's $5.1 trillion AUM portfolio now includes 113 shares in the Bitwise XRP ETF and 181 shares in the Grayscale XRP ETF.
This re-exposure to XRP indicates growing confidence among institutional investors in crypto assets, despite some analysts' concerns about regulatory uncertainty. The new holdings are significantly smaller than JPMorgan's total investment portfolio, but represent a notable increase from its previous zero exposure.
In addition to the XRP ETFs, JPMorgan has disclosed 19,894 shares held in Ripple-backed Evernorth Holdings' SPAC Armada Acquisition Corp II (XRPN) stock. This move comes as Evernorth Holdings moves closer to a merger with Armada Acquisition Corp II.
JPMorgan also increased its stake in BlackRock's Bitcoin ETF (IBIT), boosting holdings by 25% to approximately 10.4 million shares worth nearly $356 million. The firm has also turned bullish on Bitcoin, cutting put positions and increasing call options.
