JPMorgan's Crypto ETF Portfolio Expands with New Solana Stake
JPMorgan Chase has significantly increased its exposure to cryptocurrency exchange-traded funds (ETFs) in the second quarter of 2025, according to a recent 13F filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
The bank boosted its positions in BlackRock's spot Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs, holding approximately 10.4 million shares of iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT), valued at roughly $355 million, up from about 8.3 million shares in the previous quarter.
JPMorgan also established a new position in the Bitwise Solana Staking ETF, holding about 47,500 shares, and increased its stake in BlackRock's iShares Ethereum Trust (ETHA) by 338%, reaching about 1.17 million shares worth approximately $14.3 million.
This move aligns with broader trends of institutional adoption, particularly after the SEC approved spot Bitcoin ETFs in January 2024 and spot Ethereum ETFs in July 2024.
