JPYC Lands ¥6 Billion Boost for Yen Stablecoin Expansion
JPYC has secured ¥6 billion in Series B extension funding to accelerate its deployment of yen-backed stablecoins throughout Japan's commercial landscape. This capital injection will facilitate broader integration of compliant yen stablecoins across retail environments, supply chain operations, and blockchain-based financial services.
The funding will be used to build out JPYC's Web3 infrastructure and financial service offerings across Japanese markets. AZ-COM Maruwa Holdings has committed ¥1 billion as a strategic partner in this latest funding phase. The logistics giant aims to integrate JPYC into its payment workflows for shipping costs, independent contractor compensation, and employee wages.
Lawson, a major retailer, is currently testing stablecoin transactions through its standard cash register infrastructure. Select Chibo restaurant branches have also deployed the stablecoin as a customer payment option. Dental practices operating in Tokyo and Chiba prefectures are implementing the identical HashPort payment technology stack.
