Justice Department Cracks Down on Hamas' Crypto Donations

U.S. authorities have made a significant blow to Hamas' fundraising efforts by seizing over $560,000 in cryptocurrency donations.

The Justice Department announced this week that it took control of website domains and communication platforms used for recruitment and fundraising.

U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro stated on social media that authorities intercepted the names and identities of thousands of people who tried to send money to Hamas through cryptocurrency donations.

The seizure is part of a broader effort by U.S. authorities to disrupt cryptocurrency fundraising involving terrorist organizations, including al-Qaida and ISIS.
