Justice Seizes $560K in Crypto Assets from Hamas Fundraising Efforts

The US Department of Justice has announced the seizure of over $560,000 in cryptocurrency assets intended for Hamas, as well as the dismantling of its fundraising platforms. The operation targeted funds, domains, and servers controlled by the Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas.

According to court documents, a chat group claiming to be linked to Hamas directed donors to a fundraising website where they were provided with cryptocurrency addresses that changed periodically. Investigators relied on human sources to identify and trace the funds, carrying out seizures pursuant to warrants dated March 25, June 25, and October 10, 2025.

The FBI took control of servers linked to Hamas, allowing them to intercept donations and gather information on thousands of individuals who had attempted to donate. This data will be used in future counterterrorism operations, although no individual charges have been announced.
