Justin Sun Sues Trump-Backed WLFI Over Frozen Tokens Worth $320M

Share

Justin Sun has filed a lawsuit against World Liberty Financial (WLFI), accusing them of freezing roughly 4 billion WLFI tokens he holds. The Tron founder claims that after investing $45 million in the project, he received an additional 1 billion tokens as an advisor.

The complaint alleges that World Liberty pressured him to mint $200 million of its USD1 stablecoin on the Tron blockchain and threatened to burn his holdings outright if he didn't comply. Sun's 4 billion token stash is worth approximately $320 million at current prices, although it once topped $1 billion.

Zach Witkoff, WLFI's chief executive, dismissed the suit as a 'desperate deflection,' stating that the claims lack merit. Eric Trump also weighed in on X, comparing Sun's lawsuit to his 2024 purchase of a $6.2 million duct-taped banana at Sotheby's.
