K33, a Norwegian digital asset platform, has secured unconditional MICA authorization in June 2026, allowing it to offer regulated cryptocurrency services across the European Union. This regulatory milestone comes as the company faces market headwinds, with Bitcoin prices falling 14.2% and global spot trading volumes contracting 28% during the quarter.

K33's second-quarter results show a sharp decline in activity, with revenue of 192.9 MSEK representing a 74% sequential decline from Q1's 739.8 MSEK. The company emphasized that first-half growth remained positive, with H1 2026 revenue increasing 10% year-over-year to 932.8 million Swedish kronor.

K33's MICA license provides significant operational and competitive advantages as the regulatory environment tightens across global crypto markets. The company has initiated passporting procedures to operate in Sweden, Denmark, Finland, and Germany, expanding its addressable market without altering its core client focus.
