Kalshi Bolsters Compliance as $36B Lawsuit Looms
Kalshi, a prediction market platform, has partnered with compliance technology provider Comply to enhance its internal monitoring system. This move comes as Kalshi faces a $36 billion lawsuit in New York.
The partnership will integrate Kalshi trading data into Comply's regulatory software, enabling financial firms using the compliance platform to track employee trades and determine if they comply with internal policies. The tools aim to detect possible trading based on material non-public information and enforce restrictions on contracts linked to events that employees could influence or know about before the public.
Kalshi already operates an internal market surveillance program, but this integration will provide employers with direct access to employee trading data through their existing compliance systems. The system will monitor prediction market contracts alongside assets such as stocks, bonds, and cryptocurrencies that are routinely covered by workplace trading controls.
