Kalshi Commodities Trading Volume Surpasses $400 Million in Just Seven Months
Kalshi's commodity trading volume has surpassed its own expectations, reaching over $400 million in monthly volume just seven months after launch. This figure is four times that of cryptocurrency at the same point in time.
The prediction market startup has seen a significant boom in retail trading, driving it to adopt commodity prediction markets for products such as oil, gas, and metals. The strong performance of commodities trading has helped Kalshi explore newer asset classes, further boosting trading volumes.
Kalshi co-founder Tarek Mansour attributed the success to improved liquidity on the platform, stating that 'liquidity is very hard to get off the ground because of how many people you need participating actively.'
