Kalshi Commodity Trading Tops $400M Monthly
Kalshi's commodity trading volume has surpassed $400 million monthly, outpacing its early crypto business in growth pace. The company says this is four times faster than its crypto business at the same stage seven months after launch.
The rapid scaling of commodities is driven by retail demand, which has prompted Kalshi to expand into perpetual futures across oil, metals, and equity indexes. This move comes as regulators have green-lit perpetual crypto futures earlier this year.
Kalshi co-founder Tarek Mansour attributed the growth to stronger liquidity on the platform, stating that 'liquidity is very hard to get off the ground because of how many people you need participating actively.'
