Kalshi Enters Traditional Markets with Gold and Silver Perpetual Futures
Kalshi has expanded its derivatives offerings beyond cryptocurrency to include traditional markets. The exchange has filed plans for gold and silver perpetual futures with the CFTC, which would allow eligible U.S. traders continuous access to precious metals exposure.
The proposed contracts, GOLDPERP and SILVERPERP, track the U.S. dollar spot prices of gold and silver, with Pyth Network providing pricing data. Each contract settles in dollars without requiring physical metal delivery.
This structure would eliminate the need for traders to repeatedly roll over their positions into subsequent expirations, reducing costs for participants seeking longer-term exposure. The perpetual futures would trade 24/7, including weekends and holidays, allowing customers to adjust their positions when major U.S. metals markets are closed.
