Kalshi Expands Offerings with Gold and Silver Perpetuals
Kalshi has launched perpetual contracts for gold and silver, marking its expansion beyond crypto assets and prediction markets. The company confirmed to CNBC that it received CFTC approval for these new listings this week.
This move follows a July filing with the regulator. Kalshi's chief risk officer, Udesh Jha, stated that strong interest in commodities prompted the company to introduce metals as its next perpetual market.
The trading volume in commodity-related event contracts on Kalshi has exceeded $400 million in seven months. Perpetuals allow traders to gain exposure to an asset without owning it directly and are seen as a simpler way to gain leveraged exposure compared to futures and ETFs.
