Kalshi Seeks Approval for Perpetual Futures on Tesla, Apple, Nvidia
Kalshi, a prominent prediction market operator, is seeking regulatory approval to launch perpetual futures contracts on major stocks, including Tesla, Apple, and Nvidia.
The proposed contracts would allow continuous trading of these assets, even when traditional equity markets are closed. This includes allowing trades during evenings and weekends while the Nasdaq remains shuttered.
Kalshi has already established a presence in regulated cryptocurrency perpetuals, with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission granting approval for its Bitcoin perpetual contract in May.
However, individual stock perpetuals require dual approval from both the SEC and CFTC. Citadel Securities has expressed concerns that these instruments risk establishing a 'parallel shadow market' beyond conventional stock market surveillance.
