Kalshi Sees Approval for Gold and Silver Futures Amid Regulatory Scrutiny
Kalshi has made significant strides in recent times, having received approval to list gold and silver perpetual futures in the U.S. The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) authorized Kalshi to list these contracts starting September 10, 2026.
This news comes as Kalshi's trading volume continues to soar, with a cumulative $2 trillion traded in the sector during Q3 2026, up from $1.2 trillion recorded in Q2. The platform has also seen a sharp growth in web traffic, with 15.4 million US visits in July, representing a 1,520% increase from August 2025.
Meanwhile, XRP's price has been affected by the market's short-term momentum weakening and selling pressure returning. Kalshi traders are betting on a potential rebound to $1.50 for the asset, which currently trades at around $1.35. However, the exact timing and outcome of this prediction remain uncertain.
Kalshi has also found itself under regulatory scrutiny in Utah, where it had filed an emergency motion with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. Unfortunately for Kalshi, the court denied their bid, allowing the state to enforce its gambling laws. This development may have implications for Kalshi's operations and future growth.
