Kalshi Traders See 56% Chance Bitcoin Falls Below $55K by Year-End
Traders on Kalshi, a CFTC-regulated prediction market, believe there's a 56% chance Bitcoin will dip below $55,000 by December 31. The contract is currently priced at 57 cents per share and uses the CF Bitcoin Real-Time Index to track minute-by-minute price changes.
This means that even a brief wick lower on a volatile weekend could be enough to trigger a payout. The broader prediction market picture is more bearish, with contracts pricing in a 43% chance of a fall below $50,000 and a 33% probability of a drop below $45,000.
While the current odds are an improvement for Bitcoin bulls compared to earlier this year, when the probability of a sub-$55,000 print was sitting at 66%, investors navigating the second half of 2026 should take note of the market's distribution of outcomes. The gap between each level is large, and the probabilities do not drop off as steeply as you might expect if traders thought any decline would be gradual and orderly.
