Kanter Ejected from WNBA Game Amid Transgender Player Controversy
Enes Kanter Freedom, a former NBA player, was ejected from a WNBA game between the Indiana Fever and Chicago Sky on Sunday night. The incident occurred after a confrontation with WNBA player Natasha Cloud, who had just scored for her team.
Kanter was wearing a black shirt with the text 'WOMAN noun. adult human female' and appeared to gesture at the crowd as he was forced by security to leave the arena.
In a post on X, Kanter wrote: 'I just got kicked out of a WNBA game for supporting WOMEN! Let that sink in, AMERICA!' The incident comes amid Kanter's recent mocking stance about transgender athletes, who had announced his intention to 'declare' for the 2027 WNBA Draft.
Chicago Sky coach Tyler Marsh backed Cloud when asked about the incident, saying: 'I told her that we all embrace her as someone that protects our team and protects people that need to be protected.'
