Kathmandu Police Crack Down on Online Betting and Crypto Scammers
Three individuals have been arrested in Kathmandu for their alleged involvement in online betting and cryptocurrency fraud. The arrests were made by a police team dispatched from the District Police Complex Kathmandu, who apprehended them during an investigation into suspicious activities.
The suspects include Navin Poudel, 30, originally from Banganga Municipality-6, Kapilvastu; Rahul Belbase, 19; and Rabin Belbase, 28. The police stated that they facilitated betting amounting to over 206,000 rupees through the 1XBet application.
Additionally, transactions involving intangible currency worth 79,068.65 US dollars were observed by the authorities. A total of 1,501.32 US dollars in cash and five mobile phones were recovered from their possession.
