Kazakhstan Offers Crypto Tax Exemption in Bid to Repatriate Wallets

Share

Kazakhstan's President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has signed a decree offering individuals a three-year income tax exemption on digital-asset gains.

The exemption is expected to encourage an estimated 1 million crypto wallets to migrate from foreign platforms to licensed domestic exchanges in Kazakhstan.

This move is aimed at boosting onshore cryptocurrency exchange (CEX) liquidity and adoption, strengthening regulatory oversight, and increasing local market activity and fundraising opportunities in the crypto sector.
