Kazakhstan Offers Tax Breaks to Lure Back Crypto Miners
Kazakhstan is trying to lure back its crypto mining industry with tax breaks and legal certainty after a boom five years ago put a strain on the country's power grid.
The government signed a decree to encourage citizens to declare cryptocurrency holdings, move them onto regulated domestic platforms, and integrate digital assets into the country's economy.
Under the plan, private investors will receive a tax break on personal income from digital asset transactions for three years if their assets were not connected to fraud, money laundering, or linked to unlicensed crypto services.
The move is part of a global trend where countries are offering incentives and simplified legal frameworks to attract crypto owners back home.
