Kazakhstan Ties Bitcoin Mining to State-Controlled Reserve
Kazakhstan has implemented a new initiative that ties private Bitcoin mining operations to the accumulation of a state-controlled cryptocurrency reserve.
The regulations, finalized in July 2026, provide approved mining companies with stable electricity pricing for ten years but require them to transfer a fixed percentage of their mined Bitcoin directly into the National Strategic Crypto Reserve.
The government has structured the framework so that it accumulates digital assets without operating the energy-intensive mining hardware. Instead, qualified mining enterprises will sign long-term power purchase agreements and transfer a calculated portion of their output to state-managed wallets.
