KB Kookmin Bank Joins Forces with JPMorgan on Cross-Border Payments
South Korea's KB Kookmin Bank will soon launch a new cross-border payment service on JPMorgan's Kinexys network. This move is part of the bank's efforts to streamline international transactions for its clients, particularly import and export businesses. The service, which will support US dollar transfers initially, will cover 10 countries at launch, including the United States, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE.
The new payment system will connect to the existing SWIFT network, allowing for near-instant payments and foreign exchange settlement. This is a significant development in the world of finance, as it utilizes blockchain technology to facilitate secure and efficient transactions.
