Keel Infrastructure's Liquidity Figure Reveals Unsold Bitcoin Holdings

Keel Infrastructure's reported liquidity figure of $819 million masks a more nuanced picture. While the company does have $698 million in unrestricted cash, its remaining $121 million is comprised of Bitcoin it has not yet sold.

This distinction matters because Keel's Bitcoin holdings are no longer a byproduct of an active mining business. After shutting down its U.S. mining sites, the company now holds Bitcoin as a market-exposed asset within its reported liquidity figure.

Keel is not alone in this shift, with other miners like Hut 8, Marathon, and CleanSpark also transitioning their focus towards AI and high-performance computing hosting. In fact, public miners have collectively sold over 15,000 BTC from their treasuries to fund these pivots.

The value of Keel's remaining Bitcoin holdings is estimated at around $65,000 per coin, based on the company's reported valuation. However, a drop in Bitcoin price would not significantly impact its liquidity figure, as the cash cushion remains intact.
