Kennedy Demands Vote on CLARITY Act Before August Recess

Senator John Kennedy has emphasized the importance of passing the CLARITY Act before the Senate's August recess, which begins on August 10. According to a video shared by crypto pundit BankXRP, Kennedy stated that if a positive vote is not achieved before the break, 'the odds shift against us.'

Kennedy expressed frustration with the delay in passing the legislation, stating that he has attended numerous meetings over the past six months without any progress. He argued that the Senate needs to take action now and called on his colleagues to support the bill.

The CLARITY Act has been pending since June 1, with 51 confirmed votes, but it requires 60 votes to pass. A key unresolved dispute between Democrats and Republicans concerns the authority of state attorneys general to sue the Department of Justice over ethics enforcement. Senators Tom Tillis and Ruben Gallego are leading negotiations to find a resolution.

Kennedy also stated that he is willing to remain in session if necessary, suggesting that he would vote in favor of extending the Senate's work if a motion were made. With only three days left before recess, the clock is ticking for the Senate to act on the CLARITY Act.
