Kenya Anchors 30M Academic Records to Avalanche Blockchain for Tamper-Proof Verification
Kenya's national exam agency has rolled out a blockchain-based verification system on Avalanche to secure over 30 million academic records. The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) aims to reduce forged certificates by allowing employers and universities to verify a credential's authenticity directly.
The platform uses each academic record being anchored to Avalanche's public blockchain, making it harder for alterations or fake documents to pass verification. This on-chain version becomes the reference point verifiers trust instead of the physical document.
Avalanche has described this initiative as bringing tamper-proof e-certification to Kenya and positioning KNEC as one of its flagship government partnerships on the continent. The network has pursued similar public-sector deployments elsewhere, making Kenya's 30 million records one of its largest government data migrations yet.
