Kenya Anchors Over 15 Million Records on Avalanche for Instant Academic Verification

Kenya has embarked on a significant digital transformation in its academic verification system. The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has partnered with technology provider Ava Labs to anchor over 15 million records dating back to 1989 on the Avalanche C-Chain.

The new platform replaces slow, paper-based certificate checks with an electronic verification system, allowing students to access and download their credentials online. Employers, universities, and other institutions can also verify these certificates instantly, reducing processing time from months to seconds.

KNEC plans to expand the system to cover about 35 million records, including primary and secondary qualifications, advanced diplomas, and government teacher-training certifications. The platform aims to reduce certificate forgery and the use of fraudulent verification websites.
