Kenya Secures 35M Academic Credentials on Avalanche Blockchain

Kenya has rolled out a blockchain-powered initiative to combat rampant academic certificate forgery. The country's education records are now secured on Avalanche's C-Chain infrastructure, with over 15 million credentials already integrated and an expected total of around 35 million.

The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has created a verification platform that enables employers, higher education institutions, and government agencies to authenticate examination credentials quickly across the country. This eliminates time-consuming paper-based processes and fragmented institutional record systems.

More than one million KCSE 2025 certificates are now exclusively distributed through the electronic certification system, allowing students to retrieve, download, and authenticate their credentials online via a protected verification portal. Employers can validate qualifications in seconds rather than waiting months for formal written inquiries or physical document retrieval.
