Avalanche's price surged over 7% in the past 24 hours after Kenya announced a blockchain-based academic certificate verification platform on its network. The platform will secure more than 30 million education records, including examination records dating back to 1989.

The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) developed the electronic certificate verification system with Ava Labs, which allows for instant digital verification of credentials without altering original data. Employers and universities can now validate certificates in a matter of seconds, rather than days or weeks.

The move is significant as it represents one of the largest government-backed blockchain deployments announced to date. The platform's use of Avalanche's C-Chain will leverage Ethereum-compatible infrastructure while maintaining immutable records for long-term verification.
